NǏ HǍO · 你好 · HELLO
A friendly way
into China.
For the curious traveller with a thousand questions and a ticket to somewhere new.
Less uncertainty. More discovery.
A trip to China starts long before the airport. Which apps should you download? How will you pay for lunch? Can you get online when you land?
nihao China exists to make those first steps less overwhelming. We bring together practical preparation guides and a few places to begin exploring, written for visitors coming from abroad.
A guide, not a race.
We think there is more to a trip than a list of landmarks. Leave time for a neighbourhood breakfast, a long conversation over tea, or a street you had no plans to walk down.
How we write
We explain practical steps in plain English, link to official sources for important requirements, and make clear where rules depend on your passport, device or provider. Our payments, connectivity and apps guides began as Chinese-language research supplied by the project’s founder, then were edited for international travellers.
Publication dates describe our editorial work, not a guarantee that every policy or app screen will stay the same. For entry rules, check the relevant official authority before travelling. For app features and fees, the provider’s current information takes priority.
Read in your language
Our French, Spanish and Arabic editions cover the complete site. Translations were prepared with automated assistance and editorial checks; English is the original editorial version. Chinese place names and useful phrases are retained so you can show them locally. Official sources remain the authority for current requirements.
Built for your first hello.
